NA of A is filled with great mentors, and coaches. It truly makes me feel positive knowing the culture here has an impact on our players enhancing their skillset, mindset and overall health. Na of A especially makes it easier for me as … More a coach for when I am provided with all the proper equipment and gear to ensure the children/players have everything they need in order to play hard and have fun!
  • Avatar Gabe Duran ★★★★★ 4 months ago
The biggest compliment that I can give Aaron and NAoA is that he and his group "get it" when it comes to youth sports. While competing is great, the games and play should be just that. If the kids aren't having any fun, … More what's the point? In an era filled with ultra competitive youth sports at an enirely too young of an age, Aaron and NAoA provide a refreshing alternative. With many years of experience in and around youth sports, it's great to see someone like Aaron provide the leadership so desperately needed in youth sports of today. Have fun kids!

Starting our journey as a new franchisee with the National Academy of Athletics has been an absolutely phenomenal experience, and it's all thanks to the incredible support from Aaron Lock and his dedicated team! From the initial onboarding … More to ongoing guidance, they have been nothing short of exceptional.
Aaron's leadership and the team's expertise have made the process seamless and truly empowering. They've provided comprehensive training, answered every question with patience and clarity, and made me feel like a valued part of the NAofA family from day one. Their commitment to franchisee success is evident in every interaction. I feel fully equipped and incredibly excited to grow our NAofA business, knowing I have such a strong and supportive network behind me. Five stars aren't enough!

Aaron and his team are absolutely top notch and have a genuine passion for teaching kids’ valuable life skills through sports and play. They’ve developed a program that fills the gap in many communities for youth sports that isn’t focused … More on hardcore competition and crazy travel schedules. You’re awesome. Great job NAofA!

Aaron Locks, founder of the National Academy of Athletics, has revolutionized youth sports development with his exceptional leadership and vision. His program provides an unmatched combination of skill-building, confidence development, … More and pure fun that keeps children engaged and excited about athletics. Aaron's dedication to creating positive experiences is evident through his carefully selected coaches who emphasize both technical skills and important life lessons. Kids can flourish under the Academy's guidance, developing not just as an athlete but as a person with improved confidence and teamwork abilities.

NAofA organized a Pickleball Camp in San Anselmo summer of 2025. My son and his friend attended and had a terrible experience. Due to this and the icky response from the owner of the camp, I highly recommend avoiding it.
    First, while we
… More were told to arrive at 8:45, on the first day but the instructor arrived at 9. I called to inform the office and the owner (Ben) about the missing instructor, he told me that he would call her to find out what was the matter (she showed up not only after to let us all into the court). When I wrote to him and mentioned the lateness as part of the reason we would not be returning, he surprised me by retorting that he had “proof” she wasn’t late- until I reminded him about my phone call to him.
They have a “password” system to protect the kids, but the instructor hands you the pickup form when you arrive (which has the code written on it) so it’s pointless. Furthermore, When I arrived to pick up my kid, the instructor was rushing off to try and get a couple of the kids who had left the court entirely on their own.
My son and his friend were bullied by another kid throughout the day. Despite the “anti bully” policy, the kid was invited back the next day.
The kids told me that no instruction was provided at all about pickleball. They were given balls and rackets and there were no other activities or involvement to keep them engaged. When they asked to take a break because they were hot, the woman told them they had to keep playing. When I informed the owner about this behavior, he retorted that it was their policy and that many kids were “struggling to participate” that day which is why she refused the breaks.
This doesn’t seem like a camp that’s all that motivated to keep kids engaged or having fun, and the defensive/gaslighting responses of the director suggests that it’s not run in a way that promotes safety or fun, or holds its own instructors accountable.
It’s don’t recommend the Pickleball Camp at all, and wouldn’t trust their other programs.

I can't stress the importance of this organization (NA of A) enough. In an age of cell phones and the internet, I cringe when I see 8 year old's surfing social media and spending insane amounts of time on their devices instead … More of being active through sports and recreation.
Parents: We created this imbalance of mind, body and spirit in our children, and we can certainly correct it. Take the first step and enroll your kids in any of the NA of A sports camps. The kids will love it and you will too!

This summer, I had the opportunity to intern with NAofA on the marketing side, and it has been nothing short of an amazing experience. I gained valuable hands-on skills in communication and marketing, all while supporting a mission I truly … More believe in. For any college students who are interested in youth athletics, I highly recommend getting involved, especially through coaching. It’s not only a chance to build leadership and teamwork skills, but also to make a lasting impact on kids’ lives while having a lot of fun along the way!!

I've had the pleasure of working with Aaron Locks and his team for years. It's rare in business when you find a partner whose commitment towards providing quality programs for kids align with your own. His "Have Fun While … More Learning The Fundamentals" approach helps kids build confidence on and off the field. The ActivityHero team and I are excited to continue to bring youth sports and the expert knowledge of National Academy Of Athletics to families and communities across the US.

My little guy (4.5yo), just finished 1/2 day sports camp over Spring Break. After a somewhat unsuccessful soccer season in the fall through our local rec center, and other attempts to expose him to sports, he just hasn't really had … More an interest. He was very reluctant Monday morning to attend camp, but I encouraged him to just have fun and try. After the first day, I asked what his favorite thing was and he replied, "ALL OF IT!" This has been the same feedback everyday. The coaches have definitely made the experience fun. We are very happy that our son has had such a positive attitude and hope he will be willing to try other more organized sports going forward. We will be back for summer sessions.
Also worth mentioning, I was happy to see that there was a good mix of boys and girls at the camp.

I cannot say enough positive things about the incredible experience my son had at the National Academy of Athletics, flag football camp. From the moment he stepped onto the field, he was filled with excitement and enthusiasm, and that feeling … More carried throughout the entire program.
First and foremost, the coaches at the National Academy of Athletics deserve tremendous praise. They are exceptional individuals who are not only highly skilled in football but also possess an innate ability to connect with and inspire children. They create a supportive and encouraging environment that fosters personal growth and confidence in every participant. The coaches' dedication to the kids is evident in their interactions, as they go above and beyond to ensure each child feels valued and included.
My son returned home exhausted every day, but with a smile that stretched from ear to ear. The camp's perfect balance of physical activity and fun-filled games kept him engaged and excited to attend every session. Moreover, the National Academy of Athletics summer program is a fantastic opportunity for children to enhance their football skills while having an absolute blast. The camp offers a well-rounded experience that goes beyond the technical aspects of the game. It teaches important values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance, which are integral to both sports and life in general.
I wholeheartedly recommend the National Academy of Athletics flag football camp to any parent searching for a summer program that combines skill-building and fun. It's an excellent investment in your child's growth and a guaranteed source of unforgettable memories. Kudos to the entire National Academy of Athletics team for their outstanding work in creating such an exceptional program!

to be clear, my feelings about the camp have not changed HOWEVER they do work to find solid solutions for situations where it is obvious that their protocols are not followed. the protocols are sound and would have prevented this entire … More situation.
    -previous review-
mixed sports camp is dodgeball camp.
I have asked A LOT of questions over the last few hours since my kids came home in tears. apparently left with an inexperienced "coach" the kids had divided into big kids vs small kids and then the larger/older kids proceeded to pick on little kids and then when the littles react they and their parents are given "report" by the coach.
after three days of dodgeball and calls to the main office and the regional office it has been affirmed that the mixed sport camp we signed our children up for is almost exclusively a dodgeball camp. I was told "the kids usually like dodgeball so that's what we play"
that's a lot of money for a program that we only utilized for 3 days and then had to pull our kids from unless we wanted them to continue to be dodgeball fodder.

Excellent sports programs for kids! We have recently done two flag football programs with NAOA and have been so pleased with the professionalism and organization of it all. The coach Al is so good with the kids by teaching them skills, … More team building and also fun! We have been so happy with the program and looking forward to signing my 9-year old up again for Flag Football in the next session.

My son had a funtastic time at the in-person camps during Thanksgiving and Winter break.
The coaches are inclusive, friendly, fun, energetic, and create an environment where kids feel welcome and safe.
