Building Healthy Bodies and Happy Hearts®

Gear up for NAofA’s Contra Costa North Youth Sports! The NAofA Programs are designed for the mental and physical growth of kids. Through our programs, kids learn athletics, fundamentals of sports, life skills, and the dynamics of working as a team while having FUN!

We teach kids about success, failure, and what it means to be part of a team. Children are in need of role models more than critics. Because of this, our instructors focus on fundamental skill development taught in a fun and positive environment.

MEET YOUR AREA CAPTAIN

JoNae Gonzales

Hello! My name is JoNae Gonzales, and I’m thrilled to be your Area Manager for Contra Costa County. Growing up in the Bay Area, sports have always been a big part of my life. After graduating from Piedmont High School in 2014, I earned both athletic and academic scholarships that allowed me to pursue my passion for sports while furthering my education. I moved to Miami, where I excelled on and off the court, setting records and receiving the honor of being the Graduation Student Speaker. I completed my undergraduate degree in 2019 and then moved to Europe to begin an exciting new chapter.

In England, I was offered the opportunity to pursue my master’s degree while also playing professional basketball, all at no cost! Over the years, my love for sports has grown into a passion for mentoring and empowering youth. Working with the National Academy of Athletics has been an incredible opportunity to positively impact young people, showing them that anything is achievable with hard work and determination. Being part of the NAofA family has opened my eyes to new perspectives and allowed me to inspire the next generation, one game at a time!
