NAofA launches an initial License offering (ILO)

May 23rd, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
National Academy of Athletics (NAofA) launches an initial License offering (ILO) in tandem with new NBA and NFL partnerships.

Santa Rosa, California – The National Academy of Athletics (NAofA) is gearing up for the biggest summer in the company’s 7-year history. The company will be offering 440 week-long summer camp sessions in 88 cities in California and 6 in the Atlanta area. Growth like this comes with growing pains and one is capital. “We keep expanding because municipalities need us, but we’re feeling the strain on manpower as well as some technical restraints, where we know we could improve. When we heard about the ILO Exchange program, we knew it would be a perfect fit for our company. We want to be able to share our camps and programs with children in cities across the nation, and we know how much municipalities need our services… not to mention the parents! We constantly have people saying they want to support us, because they believe in us and our passion for teaching children. With the ILO program, now they can. The heart and success of our company has always been to find “win-win” situations- so how perfect is it, that people now have a way of supporting us, and they make money from doing so? That’s a solid win-win.”

The National Academy of Athletics provides high caliber youth sports programs to boys and girls, ages 4–13. It offers year-round sports camps, clinics and complete league management by partnering with city recreation departments, youth sports leagues and organizations, public and private schools and professional sports franchises. With municipalities facing even more budget cuts and staffing shortages the partnership has proven to be a win, win, win for the cities, community members and the NAofA.

Adding to its high-quality offerings, the NAofA has recently partnered with the NBA and the NFL. In September 2018 the company partnered with JR NBA, the official youth basketball participation program of the NBA. In November 2018 the company partnered with NFL FLAG, the largest flag football program in the nation. “Adding the NBA and NFL to our programming gives us greater brand recognition in new markets,” Locks said.

NAofA is already tracking for a strong summer averaging over 15% in pre-registrations from a year ago. “Although we offer sports programs throughout the year, Summer is a big time for us, and this year is shaping up to be the best ever,” said CEO Aaron Locks. “We expanded in to San Diego in 2018 as the preferred vendor for 57 recreational centers, and just became an approved vendor for the city of San Jose. We will begin programing in San Jose this Fall.”

“We attribute our growth to our TALK. TEACH. PLAY.® method and to our NAofA team. TALK. TEACH. PLAY.® gives kids a chance to learn, work on their skills and then have fun using them. Our coaches are also here to learn and go through a series of training because they want to be the best. They are so passionate about our kids! Our office staff work extremely hard to provide a quality customer service experience to parents as well as our municipalities partners.”

“The Initial License Offering will allows all these families and more to help us bring camps to even more kids. We have more than 140 cities asking us to bring our programs to their communities. With the support of people purchasing our ILO, we can move more quickly on that growth.

The NAofA ILO is listed on the ILO Exchange for $200.00 per license. The company needs two things; capital and marketing, the ILO does both. When you buy the ILO the purchaser qualifies it by telling everyone about it using social media. Once you have qualified, you participate in a royalty pool.  The NAofA ILO is paying 10% of gross revenue, and based on the projections, it will pay you $22.00 in its first year, making the ILO trade at $220.00 (10x the royalty) in the secondary market, should you wish to sell it. As a result of this mass marketing more people find out about their camps, which allows the NAofA to grow into even more cities and provide more camps. In year two the projections show a $50.00 royalty and even more in year 3.

“ILO investors will be helping us grow by telling our story on their social media while we put the capital to good use and make more revenue and growth as we have consistently done to this point. Our growth is incredible, with a team effort it can be even better. To buy our ILO  or find out more click: https://www.iloexchange.com/learn_more.php?ilo=NAofA

NA of A is filled with great mentors, and coaches. It truly makes me feel positive knowing the culture here has an impact on our players enhancing their skillset, mindset and overall health. Na of A especially makes it easier for me as a coach for when I am provided with all the proper equipment and gear to ensure the children/players have everything they need in order to play hard and have fun!

Aaron and his team are absolutely top notch and have a genuine passion for teaching kids’ valuable life skills through sports and play. They’ve developed a program that fills the gap in many communities for youth sports that isn’t focused on hardcore competition and crazy travel schedules. You’re awesome. Great job NAofA!

Starting our journey as a new franchisee with the National Academy of Athletics has been an absolutely phenomenal experience, and it’s all thanks to the incredible support from Aaron Lock and his dedicated team! From the initial onboarding to ongoing guidance, they have been nothing short of exceptional.
Aaron’s leadership and the team’s expertise have made the process seamless and truly empowering. They’ve provided comprehensive training, answered every question with patience and clarity, and made me feel like a valued part of the NAofA family from day one. Their commitment to franchisee success is evident in every interaction. I feel fully equipped and incredibly excited to grow our NAofA business, knowing I have such a strong and supportive network behind me. Five stars aren’t enough!

NAofA organized a Pickleball Camp in San Anselmo summer of 2025. My son and his friend attended and had a terrible experience. Due to this and the icky response from the owner of the camp, I highly recommend avoiding it.
First, while we
were told to arrive at 8:45, on the first day but the instructor arrived at 9. I called to inform the office and the owner (Ben) about the missing instructor, he told me that he would call her to find out what was the matter (she showed up not only after to let us all into the court). When I wrote to him and mentioned the lateness as part of the reason we would not be returning, he surprised me by retorting that he had “proof” she wasn’t late- until I reminded him about my phone call to him.
They have a “password” system to protect the kids, but the instructor hands you the pickup form when you arrive (which has the code written on it) so it’s pointless. Furthermore, When I arrived to pick up my kid, the instructor was rushing off to try and get a couple of the kids who had left the court entirely on their own.
My son and his friend were bullied by another kid throughout the day. Despite the “anti bully” policy, the kid was invited back the next day.
The kids told me that no instruction was provided at all about pickleball. They were given balls and rackets and there were no other activities or involvement to keep them engaged. When they asked to take a break because they were hot, the woman told them they had to keep playing. When I informed the owner about this behavior, he retorted that it was their policy and that many kids were “struggling to participate” that day which is why she refused the breaks.
This doesn’t seem like a camp that’s all that motivated to keep kids engaged or having fun, and the defensive/gaslighting responses of the director suggests that it’s not run in a way that promotes safety or fun, or holds its own instructors accountable.
It’s don’t recommend the Pickleball Camp at all, and wouldn’t trust their other programs.
