“My son had a funtastic time at the in-person camps during Thanksgiving and Winter break. The coaches are inclusive, friendly, fun, energetic, and create an environment where kids feel welcome and safe.”

“This was an outstanding experience for my children and they attended multiple sessions. They learned a variety of skills had a ton of fun and this was in a COVID safe environment.”

AM AM, Mom

THANK YOU to the team at NAofA for hosting the after-school skills clinics. My son attended the basketball camp at Pioneer Park in Santa Rosa. With all of our youth sports on hold, this is a wonderful option. And when the kids can play again, this will still be a great way to build confidence, improve skills and let the kids have FUN in a safe environment. Keep up the good work and stay safe!

COVID PROTOCOLS

As always, our number one commitment is the safety and enjoyment of the children under our care. The National Academy of Athletics is continually monitoring and following protocols set in place by the Center for Disease Control, Aspen Institute, State of California, and local County guidelines.

As doctors and scientists learned more about the contagiousness of COVID-19, how it spreads and how to stay safe, we knew we had to find a way to get kids out of the house and be able to experience in-person sports camps. My team spent countless hours researching, learning, and listening to both the Center for Disease Control and local health officials.

We then carefully created safety protocols that would allow kids to be able to participate in programs that were in-person, safe, and fun. We’ve been able to run sports programs now successfully for the last few months, following our protocols, we have seen tremendous success in happy kids, happy parents, and our Community Partners are loving that we are putting recreational sports and athletic programs back into their communities.

Our protocols are mandatory- small groups, age-specific, consistent participants, and the same coach teaching each group. We have a checklist of questions the parents are required to answer and supply all the sports equipment which is sanitized before and after each use. We’ve developed new programs that allow kids to run, play, laugh, and have fun while keeping safely distant from one another. All kids are required to wear a mask for indoor programs and mask mandates will vary for outdoor programs depending upon city and county guidelines.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURES

  • Check-in begins 20 minutes prior to the start of camp.
  • Any camper arriving 5 minutes past camp start time will not be allowed to attend.
  • Walk-up check-in with parents and children socially distanced and masked.
  • Parents are greeted by staff wearing masks.
  • Parents are welcomed, and asked a series of screening questions.
  • Staff confirms the parent’s MOBILE phone number to be reached in case of emergency.
  • All equipment is sterilized and provided.
  • Campers are permitted to bring items with their name clearly marked: a backpack, necessary medications, a sweatshirt, and a water bottle.
  • Campers must wear masks and use hand sanitizer at drop-off, during camp breaks when standing or sitting close to other campers, and prior to pick-up.
  • Campers are sent to line up at cones to prepare for camp.

DURING CAMP

  • One coach will lead the group (max number 12-14) each week. From start to finish. (Max number is determined by Local Health Officials & age of participants)
  • Camp must consist of the same campers each day.
  • Warm-up drills and skills are done while maintaining 3 feet of social distancing were feasible.
  • No face-to-face games will be played, only adapted games, individual challenges, or appropriate competitions.

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURES

  • Campers must sanitize their hands.
  • Parents are given the all-clear to take the child home.
  • Parents are reminded to immediately contact the NAofA if their child becomes sick.
  • All equipment is cleaned with sodium hypochlorite solution at 2–10%.

NOTE

Parents are required to notify NAofA post-camp if their child comes down with any illness and we will immediately alert via text all parents of the children that attended that camp.

Of course, we will continue to monitor COVID-19 updates and amend and adjust these guidelines at regular intervals as the situation changes. We thank you for your understanding and patience.

The National Academy of Athletics provides youth sports camps and physical education programs for boys and girls throughout California and soon the nation. With a proven track record of providing safe, fun, and educational youth sports camps and programs, they have become a preferred partner to City Recreation Centers, Schools, and Youth Sports Leagues.

Kids are in need of role models more than critics, so our instructors focus on skill development taught in a fun and positive environment.

The NAofA youth sports camps and programs for kids are specifically designed to help players of all abilities. The goal is to have tons of fun, learn sport-specific skills, and gain confidence on and off the field. We teach children about success, failure, and what it means to be part of a team. Our coaches provide an enthusiastic place for kids to fall in love with their chosen sport.
