Things are black and white for our kids...

Winter Break Basketball

The importance of attending basketball training during the basketball season

Often times we put our child into a sport and don;t really allow them the chance to learn how to play or more abot the ruls of the game before tha are thrown out on the field and asked to "compete".

I have found that by helping kids to learn the fundamentals fo the game and the rules they feel much more confident and enjoy the experience significanty.

the Kids journey....

Unbelievable drive…

Unbelievable drive…

So between 12 – 18 months a young child is trying to learn to walk. They get up fall down – get up fall down… over and over again.

Confident kids excel in life!

Remember. Sticks and stones will break by bones but words... Well remember to choose your words wisely... Especially with children.
On a daily basis kids here 7 no's or corrections to every yes or positive comment.
I say we balance the scale and give them a few "atta babe" even for something as simple as getting their shoes on without your help

Children

Children are great imitators, so give them something great to imitate.

Be careful what you say it can and will be used against you...

Dealing with youth baseball/softball umpires

The contribution of time and the devotion of the Little League umpire often go unrewarded, if not unnoticed. But, as a representative of the program, which serves youth worldwide and has earned respect for integrity and discipline, the umpire fills a unique role.

Likened to a police officer, the umpire must command respect and enforce the rules of the game. He or she must also have knowledge of children and make every effort to be a good ambassador for Little League.

Youth Sports - Do it together!

Play sports with your child. I feel the most enjoyable part about youth sports is just being able to get out there and play with your child. This is an incredibly special time for both you and your child. I believe it’s a time when you can really develop some very special and lasting memories.

Having said that, I do think it is very important for youth sports parents to approach this with the proper mind set. Our role as parents is to encourage and support our children as they play youth sports.
